In the readings assigned to us for reflection over the course of the week, there were a lot of different, interesting findings that I made throughout the articles. I for one thoroughly enjoy graphic design, and so seeing what some of these experts had to say about the bare bones of it, that being what it really is and all that it can be, was very interesting. My favorite part of the readings was in the Kidd article – he described graphic design as not just combining colors, shapes, pictures, and so on – but he described it as a method of problem solving. He explained that you can solve all types of issues through graphic design, whether that be good, bad, or even problems that threaten the fate of mankind. You can create whatever type of world you desire through graphic design, which is part of what makes it so fun and interesting.
