In my mind, the three best pieces of culture from the 80’s were the hip-hop music, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and the Breakfast club.
The music that came out of the 80s was spectacular, but there are a few specific favorites of mine that really stick out.
Let It Whip by Dazz Band, from 1982, is a classic song that is still around today. It has swift beats and a catchy guitar/bass combo, which makes it a song that I listen to often.
Super Freak by Rick James, from 1981, is a well-known song throughout the world for it’s catchy lyrics, and Rick James’ intricate, one-of-a-kind voice.
Push It by Salt & Pepa, from 1986, is an upbeat, in your face song that is used in a variety of movies today, while also being very catchy and fun to listen to.
Ferris Bueller’s day off and the Breakfast Club are two classic films from the 80s, both of which give accurate, yet funny representations of teenagers and the school system of the 80s which is interesting to compare to the modern day.
